We are very proud and excited to have been named “one of the thirty five startups to watch” today by leading technology blog, TechEU.

The Zesty team are honoured to be listed alongside Europe’s leading digital health companies, all just one week before we attend the Europas, The European Tech Startup Awards next Tuesday night as one of the shortlisted “Best Health Startups in Europe”  (http://theeuropas.com/)

The Awards and shortlist today builds on Zesty’s earlier success this year when we were named “1 of 5 UK based Startups to look out for in 2014” by influential technology blog EU Startups (http://zest.ee/1kFx2fg) and featured extensively in Forbes magazine’s high profile digital health article entitled “The New Health IT Arms Race Between The US And EU” (http://zest.ee/1pP2blM)

Recognition by the technology and healthcare communities is a great motivator for all of the Zesty team and keeps us focused on our mission to make access to Healthcare appointments a lot easier for consumers and our vision to make booking Healthcare appointments as easy as booking a Flight, Hotel or Restaurant online.

Health startups of all types are proliferating across Europe. Here’s a list highlighting 35 companies that are, in our opinion, spearheading exciting developments in this sphere.

It’s no surprise that the intersection of health, wellness and technology is becoming a popular space for entrepreneurs in Europe. From fertility-tracking apps to smart toothbrushes, startups are tackling all areas of the healthcare spectrum.

But as Frank Boermeester – partner of European health conferenceHealthStartup – outlined in a blog post, there are a number of challenges, specific to the region, that entrepreneurs in this space will undoubtedly face. Namely, the fragmentation of the market, shortage of entrepreneurs and lack of investment – nothing we haven’t heard before about the general startup scene in Europe, though.

In an effort to track down the emerging digital health activity in Europe, we’ve compiled a list highlighting 30 companies that are, in our opinion, spearheading exciting developments in this scene (in no particular order).

Please note our focus is more on healthcare rather than fitness-centric startups and is based on whether the company has a headquarter set up in Europe.
