London, 19th July 2013 – Qinec and Zesty, an online healthcare marketplace, have today announced a strategic partnership that will enable Londoners to easily search, compare and book same day, next day and future healthcare appointments across the capital on their smartphone, tablet or laptop.

Launched in May 2013, Zesty offers available healthcare appointments to people that need them across London. Demand is huge and the company has helped thousands of people in the last three months alone. Currently the online marketplace focuses on Dentist and hygienist appointments, but the high growth startup is set to expand into other healthcare verticals such as private doctors, physios, osteopaths and chiropractors.

To do this, Zesty has signed a partnership with Qinec, the UK’s most established provider of cloud-based practice management systems. Backed by Amadeus Capital Partners, Qinec works with thousands of clinical professionals in the UK and works with multiple innovative business models in the healthcare sector such as DoctorCall, Newmedica and Vista Diagnostics.

Zesty will work with Qinec allowing patients to find and book straight into the best healthcare providers in one click. Appointments from all of Qinec’s clients will be made available via a secure Web API. As Zesty expands across the UK, more and more consumers will be able to take advantage of Qinec’s national footprint.

Robbie Hughes, Founder and CEO, Qinec said: “We want to create a more simplified and better connected healthcare system in the UK. To do that requires a fresh new attitude and increasingly it is start-ups that are the driving force behind delivering better patient experience. Each year approximately 5 million appointments go unused, whilst at the same time thousands of people suffer the automated voice of their GP’s answering machine. It seems crazy not to join forces with Zesty and help them to leverage the scale of our network. Our clients fill their appointments and people in need of healthcare get attention they need, at a time and location to suit them.”

Currently consumers can only access appointments in the greater London area but because Qinec works with clinicians the length and breadth of the UK, Zesty will be able to rapidly extend its service across the UK.

Lloyd Price, Co Founder and Chief Operating Officer, Zesty: “So often people need access to healthcare, yet they find themselves either at the mercy of massive waiting lists or trying to figure out if they can take the appointment and still get to work on time.  Zesty eradicates that stress. Our aim is to make finding an available appointment as easy as booking a flight, hotel or restaurant online. We’ve seen tremendous growth, but to gain mass-market appeal, we need to widen the scope of services consumers can search for on our site. Qinec are the right partner to help us with this ambition. It has built a fantastic technology platform and shares our vision to operate flexible, robust and secure solutions to healthcare professionals.”
