Zesty, the UK’s leading provider of patient portal technology for NHS hospitals, is delighted to announce that Rob Shaw is joining the company as an advisor with immediate effect. Rob, who recently retired from his role as Deputy CEO of NHS Digital, is a recognised expert in all aspects of health care technology and cyber-security.
NHS Digital is the national information and technology partner of the health and care system. NHS Digital’s team of information analysis, technology and project management experts create, deliver and manage the crucial digital systems, services, products and standards upon which health and care professionals depend.
His part time role with Zesty will be to advise the company on the future direction of its product portfolio, assist with making the Zesty products easy for hospitals to implement and ensure patient data is always safe and secure.

About Rob Shaw
Rob was appointed as NHS Digital’s Deputy Chief Executive in August 2017, after serving as Interim Chief Executive in early 2017 and Chief Operating Officer since April 2016. He was awarded the CBE for his services to Health and Social Care in 2018.
He joined as Director of Operations and Assurance Services in April 2014 and managed the insourcing of three critical infrastructure services: the core NHS Spine systems, the Care Identity Service (CIS) and the Secondary Uses Service (SUS). He was SRO for Spine and CIS and delivered the Programmes on Open Source technology.
Rob ran CareCert which is one of only three government Certs in the UK and had strong relationships with the National Cyber Security Committee. He also ran the Cyber Security Strand of the Global Digital Health Partnership which brings together over 30 countries from across the globe.
